Description

A typical DR-7700 series Disabled Refuge EVC comprises

  • A number of outstations installed in refuge areas and used to call the system operator.
  • A number of system controller each interfacing up to 5-off outstations to the system.
  • A master station used by the system operator to operate the system and communicate with the outstations.
  • battery backed PSU to provide power for the entire system and allow the system to operate in the event of a mains failure.

Cabling

Up to 5-off outstations are star wired to and powered from a controller. Up to 4-off controllers are cabled to a master station, and battery backup PSU. The controllers can be centrally located with all outstation cabling routed back to the central equipment room. Alternatively or the controllers can be located throughout the site e.g. on different floors, reducing the number of cables from outstations to the central equipment room.
